About the event
Digital Waitaha Charitable Trust aims to empower safe, ethical and responsible digital device users who successfully manage their digital wellbeing and safety. They focus on championing safe device use, fostering individual agency, and increasing digital equity. Digital Waitaha provides programmes, resources and guides to help schools and communities maximise the benefits of the digital world and avoid its negatives.
A Conversation with Digital Waitaha - Hosted by Cheryl Doig
Digital Waitaha offers programmes and resources for ECE through secondary schools to empower students and whānau to manage their digital wellbeing and safety and encourage students to become digital leaders who enable others to stay safe online.
Their offerings include:
- The Ask A Digital Expert programme pairs akōnga (students) with senior members of the community to provide one-on-one advice for digital device use.
- In-class digital safety and wellbeing sessions
- Digital Ambassadors programme
- Whānau workshops
- Resources for students on topical online issues to empower students to manage their digital wellbeing and safety
